Donald "Bruce" Meade passed away Saturday, July 23rd, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was surrounded at the time of death by his wife, Pat, daughter, Sarah, and son, Jeremy. He is also survived by his brother, Jim of Des Moines, Iowa.
Bruce, born October 18, 1947, grew up in Colorado Springs. He attended Wasson High School, Adams State College, and the University of Colorado. He was an artist and used his talents in restoring and repairing wood. He owned a successful business and was respected for his skill and outstanding integrity.
Bruce lived life to the fullest. He had a childlike approach to life and could often be found surrounded by children instead of adults. His favorite pastimes were travel, golf and spending time with his family and friends. Bruce made everyone who knew him laugh and smile at the stories he shared. His greatest loves were his children and grandchildren, Maggie and Wesley, who filled him with joy and many adventures. We are grateful that he is at peace.

Bruce and I knew each other at Wasson High School. Bruce played football and was number 22 our senior year as I recall. After the games several of us were invited to his house for cookies and to watch late night TV. I like Bruce very much, great humor and smart. Due to my own health problems, which began with playing football at Wasson, I cannot attend the memorial service later in October. Rest in peace my old friend.

Patty, Sarah and Jeremy, I am so sorry to see this. I know it's been ages since I've seen any of you, but I still remember Bruce and his fun sense of humor. He made me laugh, too. I send my sincere condolences to all of you!
