Calvin Ray Veretto, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after battling cancer for several years.
Calvin was born on November 6, 1958, in Roswell, New Mexico, the third of four children to Oscar Lee and Patricia Ann (Tomlinson) Veretto. Calvin graduated from Goddard High School in 1976 and worked for the Roswell Independent School District as a maintenance electrician for almost 10 years. He and his wife, Debra, moved to Colorado Springs in 1988. They had a beautiful daughter, Kristen Jeannette in 2000, who they loved raising together. They enjoyed exploring Colorado's beauty and everything the Rocky Mountains had to offer.
Calvin worked for over 20 years as an electrician for El Paso County before retiring. He took pride in his work as an electrician. Calvin was very into working around his house and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He enjoyed yard work and took pride in his home and the people in it. He always had fun going to the shooting range with buddies of his and trying out new guns. Calvin always had music playing…his favorite being Elvis and old-time rock and roll. He always had a strong belief in the Lord.
During the last nine months, Calvin lived at Brookdale Skyline Senior Living, where he made many friends and shared many conversations and joy with his fellow residents.
Calvin is preceded in death by his son, Ryan Veretto, his brother, Dwayne Veretto, and his parents, Oscar Lee and Patricia Ann Veretto.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kristen Veretto of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Nancy Graham and husband Larry of Lubbock, TX; sister, Vicky Anderson and husband Mark of Kerrville, TX; and former wife, Debra (Brim Veretto) Stapleton, who has remained a lifelong friend to Calvin.
