I just realized that we always called you Shawn. Sorry that I had forgotten that. We took Candyce home from the hospital several times. We have flowers in our yard from when we helped her thin out the flower beds. We should have known that they were invasive if she had so many! We love them as we remember Candyce. We also worked with her when she had special events for the cadets. I would be willing to bet that her corner of heaven has lace doiles and porcelain dishes on display. And probably a cheese roll with fruit and crackers.

We are sorry that we did not know where Candyce was until today, December 6, 2025. We were talking to our daughter, and her name came up. Our daughter googled her a d read the obituary to us. We have many fond memories of parties at her house. She called to tell me every time she talked to Malin. That child was her life. Troy , we saw you several times. You probably don't remember us,but we heard about you often.

I met Candyce in 2010 while caring for her next-door neighbor and we became instant friends. We shared many interests and spent many hours visiting, shopping for flowers for her glorious gardens and drinking tea. I miss our conversations and trips to the Emporium. We always had fun no matter what we were doing. My deepest condolences go to Shawn, Paula and Malin. You were everything to her.

I met Candyce while working at USAFA, Arnold Hall. I was fortunate to be invited to her home for a lovely tea during Christmas. She was always smiling and so easy to talk with. Sing and dance and wear those silver earrings Candyce!
