I first met Col. Gould while I was a teenager working at Gleneagle. He was fair, firm, and a gentleman. He always had a smile and a story to tell me about how he was my stepdad's ROTC instructor at U of M. I will always carry with me many fond memories of Col. Gould. My best to the Gould family and always know what a positive effect Col Gould had on those he touched.

Carl was one of my first bosses. I was just a punk little kid that cleaned clubs at Gleneagle. he was a great mentor. took me golfing more times than I can count. later in life, we rekindled our relationship when I became his dentist. Man, he could still play. he used the same ball for ten years. I have many fond memories of him and I will greatly miss him. he's in a better place now, still swinging a club.

To General Gould, Patty and entire Gould family: Please know that our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you this morning as you lay your father and family patriarch to rest. His legacy of service and commitment to this nation as a member of The Greatest Generation, and in educating and training the next generation(s) serve as a beacon to us all.
Perhaps Winston Churchill described your father best when he said "You make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give." Our lives like so many others were deeply enriched by knowing your father during our 11 years at USAFA.
May the Good Lord continue to bless you and your entire family, and may you take comfort in knowing that Carl has now "... touched the face of God"

Carl was extremely respected in the USAFA family. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home for all. You'll be deeply missed bu all who knew you!

I had the pleasure of spending every other Saturday for the last 6 months in a Bible Study with Carl. He was a Godly man who in his children, grand children and friends, left a legacy that truly reflected his life.

Carl was my flight instructor for my Commercial Pilot's license. I loved being with him in a plane. One time, on a cross country flight to Atlanta, GA, the controller directed us, in our Cessna 172, down through a thunder storm. The plane flipped over and Carl just said, "Look at your airspeed," which had gone way to high, and I was able to regain control. That is all he said. When we landed he said, "That was fun!" I thought, "Not so much!" I'm sure he saved our lives.

Carl was our fearless leader & constant encourager on our trek up Pikes Peak back in 1983.(..complete with the golf ball hail storm ) Such a great man. Such a great legacy of discipline & devotion to God, his family & his country. Thank you Major Gould. Your example of living will be remembered by many forever.

Our deepest condolences to the Gould family for their loss. My favorite memory of Carl is the two of us teaming up in a golf tournament at Gleneagle Golf Club and doing some damage. We made some serious money. We will miss him dearly. A truly great man.

I met Carl when I first went to Kent State University in November of 1070 (46 years ago)as Director of Athletics. We have remained close friends for all those 46 years. My wife, Rena and I spent many happy social events at his and Louise's home in Kent, Ohio. I do not have enough space to write all of my admiration and love for this exceptional man!! I pray for God to welcome in to his kingdom. He will be a giant on God's team. Mike Lude

Always to be remembered for attendance at the Kent Psychology Dept. post-football-events and Friday seminars. Politically wrong, but always respectful and tolerant of his academic colleagues.

Carl was a high energy, strong spirited colleague for a decade in KSU's School of Technology prior to his retirement. I have fond memories of his enthusiastic and professional style as we went through that interesting decade! He minced no words, had a look that needed none, and a heart so soft. I'm thrilled to see he was so active for many years after retiring. He's left all of us better for having known him!

Carl helped check me out as an aircraft commander in the B-47 at Pease AFB, NH, in the mid-1060s. A great pilot and one of the best men I ever knew. The 100th Bomb Wing will miss him. God bless him and his family.

An absolute gentleman and a mentor to all who knew him--he will be greatly-greatly missed and his memory will always be with us as we spend time with his son Mike & daughter Patty, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren and his wife Carol. RIP warrior, we've got it now, you served your country and its people in an outstanding manner.

What a Great Man and a Great Family; I had the pleasure of growing up in the Gould's neighborhood in Kent, Ohio. I am quite sure I rang the Gould's Home door bell more than they would have liked. They always made me feel welcomed. I have fond memories of him jogging and driving the car and whistling for their Dog(Sooty) to follow him in the allotment. Enjoyed Snow Skiing, well past his 70's!!!
