Carl "John" Luksic of Colorado Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. John was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Carl John Luksic and Eleanor Rapp, both deceased. John graduated from Air Academy High School in 1964 and from Regis University with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems.
John married Susan Allen in 1967 in Colorado Springs. He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1970.
John worked for Hewlett Packard and Agilent for many years in Computer information technology. Upon retirement, he worked at several golf courses (free golf), then became a bus driver for District 20. John was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved back packing with his two daughters, friends and family. He loved to ski, golf and fly fish. John competed in the 2001 Summer National Senior Olympic Games in Baton Rouge, LA. He came in 5th place in the 400-meter dash.
He is survived by his loving wife Susie and by his children, Laura Bimm (Bob) and Lisa Bruntz (Dan) and his five grandchildren: Katie Bimm, Alie Bimm, Andrew Bruntz, Nate Bruntz and Nic Bruntz. He is also survived by his brothers, Matt, and Mike and one sister, Pam Kirby. His brother Dwight, proceeded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2019 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church.; 1515 N. Cascade Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society. To leave an online condolence to the family, please visit Swan-Law.com.
