Carlos Chalacan Obituary

Chalacan
Carlos Chalacan
October 25, 1981
June 16, 2023

Carlos Chalacan, 41, Peyton, CO, passed away on June 16, 2023. He was born on October 25, 1981, in Quito, Ecuador.
Carlos served for 26 years in the Army, including with the Colorado National Guard. He was a hero, a soldier, and a mentor to many. He led by example and was dedicated to his soldiers and friends. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for soccer and his willingness to try new things.
But above all, Carlos loved his children, Kristen and Tyler. They were his priority, and he always put them first. Carlos was also a loving son to his mother Marcia, who survives him.
Carlos will be remembered for his bravery, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to his country and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I had the honor or serving with SFC Carlos Chalacan for several years. Getting to know him, I got to appreciate his professionalism, his teaching strategy, and his care and concern for Soldiers learning and doing their job correct the first time to take care of service members. His care for his family and those of the military made him stand out and professional. I thank God for the opportunity to learn and share with Carlos! Thank you for your service and friendship!

I send my deepest, heartfelt condolences to all your family, friends and fellow servicemembers.

You graced us with your presence and we were blessed by your time with us. For me personally, you're my friend, brother, mentor, and when I needed it most, hope. You saved my career. You helped me, you helped everyone. You never asked for anything in return, you just made sure we were all squared away. You were one of the truly best Soldiers and people I have ever met, and we are all better humans because of you.

When the time comes Godfather, we'll play another hand of spades. When that time comes, we'll go on another walk so you can share more of your knowledge and advice on how to treat people and self better. When that time comes, all of your family and brothers and sisters in arms will see you again, but not too soon. You are missed and loved by so many. Carlos, you may not be here, but you will never be gone.

Rest in peace and power, I love you bro.
