Carlos Sauvage Obituary

Carlos G. Sauvage went to be with the Lord July 1, 2009. He was a retired U.S. Army Medic and public school teacher in Colorado Springs. He has been a resident of Colorado Springs for many years. Carlos was born July 23, 1926 in Veracruz, Mexico. A graduate of the Normal School for Teachers in Mexico City, Mexico, he taught prior to moving to the U.S. He received a master's degree from USC and taught public school in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. He enjoyed singing with the Fountain Valley Harmonizers. He was a member of Circle Drive Baptist Church. Carlos, a native of Mexico, was fiercely proud of his American citizenship and of 22 years in the U.S. Army as a Medic. His military service took him to Korea, the Philippine Islands, Europe, Vietnam, and numerous assignments in the U.S. Carlos married (Jean) Marjorie Woodward in Spencer Memorial Chapel on the campus of William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. They observed their 60th wedding anniversary on May 22 of this year. Preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother, he is survived by his loving wife: 2 sons, Carlos Jr., and Ernest; 2 daughters, Ramona and Juanita; 4 grandchildren Aaron, Kaibab, Sara, and Nicholas; and 6 great grandchildren. Paisley, Abigail, Emma, Lorna, Landon, and Bella Marie. A celebration of life service will be Friday July 3, at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to The Harmonizers 1075 Harbourne St. Security, CO 80911, or Frontier Hospice, 503 N. Main, Ste. 103W, Pueblo Co 81003.

Ernest and family -

My sympathy goes out to you and your family.

It has been many years since I have seen your dad, but I remember his smile and kind words every time I saw him and your mom when they would come into the restaurant that I worked at in Widefield.
