I remember Speed as he was friends with my dad Wes Shull. They served in Vietnam together and stayed friends for a long time. Our families used to get together and have dinner often when we lived in Northern Virginia. My dad always spoke highly of Speed. I have fond memories of him and our family get-togethers. I know it's been years, but I just saw this post and wanted to leave a message. So sorry for your loss.

As a Colorado Springs representative of the USMA class 1957, I wish to send our profound sympathy to all the family of our distinguished classmate. We shall not forget him.
If you could provide details of the memorial service, a group of classmates would like to attend.

What a privilege to have known Speed. We were EM together at the USMA Prep School and ended up in the same company (K-1) at the Academy..He was quite a "hive" (Cadet slang for a brain) and wore stars on his collar to represent his academic prowess. Have many fond memories..
