Carmen Lind Obituary

Carmen Lind, 93, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday September 10, 2005. Carmen was born on September 21, 1911 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Roy and Ruby Cain. She married Oscar Lind on April 28, 1930 and they spent 58 happy years working and traveling together. Oscar passed away in June of 1988. Carmen was a wonderful homemaker and business partner in their Home Building business. She also was a master seamstress who took great joy in creating beauty for her home and family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and had a servant's heart to minister not only to her family, but to her friends as well. She is survived by her three daughters: Jane Downey who resides in Blaine, Washington with her husband, Bobby Hunt, and Jane's children: Diane New, Denise Kidd, John Downey, and Kristen Lance; Ingrid Allen of Colorado Springs and her husband, Jerry and their sons: Mike Allen, Scott Allen, and Christopher Allen; Karen Merrill of Odessa, Texas and her husband, Roger and their children: Clint Merrill and Jennifer Hartman. She had 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Kathleen Pingenot, 96, of Georgetown, Texas. A private service celebrating the life of Carmen Lind will be held Tuesday, September 13 at the Memorial Garden Chapel.

Carmen, or Grandmommy as we all knew her, will be missed by everyone. We should all be so lucky to live such a long, healthy, and happy life! I'll always remember those wonderful trips in our childhood to Gradmommy's house in Colorado Springs. Wish we could have all been there to say good-bye! We love you! Denise
