Ben, Chris, Tanisha, and the grandchildren....I am so sorry for your loss. Carmen and I knew each other since 1967. I lived with her and her mother (Mrs.Tirado), when I worked for Nynex. We loved each other. I will miss our conversations.

I first met Carmen several years ago at Immaculate Conception parish. At that time she was caring for the outdoor plants around the church. She was so easy to get to know! She was so joyful in her faith. We enjoyed many a cup of coffee and great conversation!
I will keep the family and Carmen in my prayers.

Ben my prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family. Carmen will be missed and the times she saw me she would stop to talk and cared to make sure that I was doing okay after my wife passing. God Bless

My family's sincere condolences to Ben and his lovely family. We all wanted a few more years to cherish Carmen's friendship, but we are so blessed for the years we were given. I'm going to miss my best friend's New York sense of humor, our trip to Denver in search of authentic Latin ingredients and to get our city fix, long talks about growing up in New York, that distinct Puerto Rican accent, and especially that ever kind and giving spirit that was Carmen. Carmen's ever endearing charm, made it hard not to love her. I just know it that, from now on, whenever I order a Long Island Ice Tea, I will surely hear Carmen's voice advising me, "THEY DON'T KNOW HOW DO MAKE LONG ISLAND ICE TEA OUT HERE, SO DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!" Chica, no worries, we will offer our prayers and Masses for you always, we love you and miss very much you.
