Carol Carson Obituary

Carol Elizabeth (Schmidt) Carson passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012, at her home. Carol was born December 18, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI. Her undergraduate degree was from Carthage College, and she received her two Masters degrees from Trenton State University and University of Northern Colorado. Carol had a wonderful career all over the world as a special education and reading teacher. This includes the Department of Defense Dependent School System, Academy District 20 (COS), and as a private consultant with outlying Colorado school districts. She loved to travel and had been to over 50 countries. She defied all odds and fought an incredible fight against liver cancer over the past four and a half years. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Jay; son, Rob (Laura); daughter, Amanda; grandson, Tyler; sister, Barbara Nordberg (Roger); brother-in-law, Jim Carson (Paula); nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 675 E. Baptist Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80921. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the church, attn: Boxes for the Troops.
