Carol J. Jaffe, 83, of Emmaus, died on Friday, August 9, 2013, at Woodland Terrace in Allentown. She was the wife of Donald Jaffe. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage on February 1st. Born in St Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Lyndon and Dorothy (Over) Rodgers. Carol received her B.S. in Nursing in 1953 from Simmons College in Boston. She obtained her license as a Registered Nurse (RN). Carols first employment was as a public health nurse in MA and she later worked at a hospital in NY. Carol was on the Emmaus Board of Health from 2001 to 2005 where she served as President from 03 to 05. Carol was also a volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 30 years and at Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County for seven years. Survivors: Husband; children, Nancy Jaffe and her husband Chris McCarthy of Singapore, Rodger Jaffe of New York City, Jannah Saleh of Upland, CA, Richard Jaffe and his wife Rebecca of Yardley, PA and Atty. Robert Jaffe and his wife Catherine Lazarus of St. Petersburg, FL; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Caseau. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
