Carol Jean St. John
December 31, 1951 - October 25, 2023
Carol Jean St. John, age 71, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023. She was born on December 31, 1951, in Phoenix, AZ, to the late Jearl and Alice (Walter) Yager. Carol was a loving and kind-hearted woman who touched the lives of many with her generosity and infectious smile.
Carol was a talented musician, excelling as a bass player, singer, and rhythm guitarist. She was also a patient and nurturing teacher, helping her students to learn and grow at their own pace. In addition, Carol had a successful career as an X-ray Tech for 30 years, followed by 10 years as a Massage Therapist. She then fulfilled her passion for music by joining her husband Bill as co-owner of a music store for 15 years. Carol was not only a gifted musician but also a fantastic cook.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William D. St. John, and her cherished family members: Sherry Hough (sister), Carole Jean Sims (niece), Stella Diener (cousin), Pam Cola (cousin), Davey Wilson (cousin), Stevie Wilson (cousin), Brian Wilson (cousin), and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jearl and Alice Yager.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Carol's life on November 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Alternative Cremations, located at 2377 N. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care, located at 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Alternative Cremations for their assistance during this difficult time.

As a customer, Music Central was my favorite place to hang out...because of Carol, Bill and Lilly. Carol was such a kind, caring person. I was always looking for that "special guitar" and she was always so willing and patient to help me. I miss going to Music Central and spending those times with two of my most favorite people.

My son, Cameron, took guitar lessons with Carol for a couple years while he was in JR High School. He enjoyed his time learning from her. Carol was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She is greatly missed.

I was fortunate enough to be a student of Carol's for almost four years. She was a wonderful teacher and became a friend who I will not forget. I particularly enjoyed her sense of humor and her ability to tolerate my clumsy attempts learning to play the guitar. I looked forward to my weekly lessons with Carol and will miss them.
