Carol Kuhns Obituary

Carol Lynn Kuhns, 62, passed away November 13, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer for one year. Carol was born Carol Lynn Ferguson in Grand Junction, CO on September 11, 1943 to Ferdinand and Dorothea Ferguson. She is survived by all of her brothers and sisters, husband, children, and grand children. She married Ron L. Kuhns July 31, 1963. Together they had two daughters: Kelly Kuhns McGrath and Kit Kuhns Trinidad, both of Colorado Springs. Kelly married Bob McGrath. Together they have two children: MacKenzie (13) and Max (10). Kit married Thomas Trinidad. Together they have two children: Katelynd (9) and Keaton (7). Ron and Carol have been living in Colorado Springs for 35 years, and have made Woodmen Valley Chapel their church home for ten years. Carol was wholly committed to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to her family. She had many interests and enjoyed any and all activities surrounding her family. She taught her children and grandchildren the love of cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, singing, traveling, and generally having fun. She delighted in her grandchildren and all their activities. She will be sorely missed, as she has been an anchor to all who knew her and relished in her warmth, love, and friendship. In lieu of flowers, cash donations can be made to the American Cancer Association. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Woodmen Valley Chapel at 10:00 a.m.

Dear Ron and family,

My heart breaks for you! I remember Carol's warm, wonderful smile, her kindness and caring ways. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling of loss and grief in Carol's death. She was such a dear gal!!!!

I pray you will give each other the gift of expressing your real emotions with each other during this journey of grief. No need to do this alone. I pray you know you are being held up in the Light of God's love. In His Compassion,

Kit, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's been many years since we've seen each other, but I can remember spending the night at your house as a kid and your mom made us breakfast and she put the yummy flavored syrups on the table! I wanted her to be my mom! I know you all are very close and I hope your closeness will get you through this difficult time. Take care of each other!

Ron, Kelly, Kit and family,

There was no one quite like Carol. She made us laugh and brought us to center in a world that is often off kilter. So many memories of us all together on trips and gathering together leave a smile and warmth in our hearts.

May your suffering be comforted by our Saviour's own suffering and the reason He died for us all.

We will be reunited with Carol in God's presence.

Love to all

Dear Ron and Family,

When there is love, any life is too short. No person or experience will ever replace the happy days and love Carol gave to you.

We have had the privilage of knowing Carol for many years and will always remember her smiles and her pleasing personality.

We know there will be a lonesomeness, but we want you to know that your friends are thinking of you and sympathizing with you in this time of your great loss.

No one who knew her will ever forget her.

Dear Ron and Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. It was my pleasure to take care of Carol when she was here at PPMP. She touched and will have a special place in my heart. I will remember her kind nature and her smile even though she wasn't feeling well. I will remember how we laughed about our failing eyesight and please know that Dr. Hughes received his wild yellow and black reading glasses today compliments of Carol, Ron, Kelly and Linda and he LOVED them. Carol fought a brave fight and was an inspiration to us all. Linda West,R.N.
