Carol Osborne Obituary

Carol A. (Cashion) Osborne passed into the arms of the Heavenly Father on December 15, 2015 in her home filled with family. She inspired many as she fought a five-year battle with cancer with understated genius and the grace of a lady.

Born on September 11, 1937 to Dale Richard Cashion and Letha Day (Miller) Cashion in Enid, Oklahoma. Carol graduated from Enid High School and the University of Oklahoma (with Distinction). She married her college sweetheart Robert Porter Osborne on January 31, 1960. They remained life partners until her death.

After living in Southern California for three years, they moved to Colorado Springs in 1960. They provided a loving family life raising three children; Joseph Gregory Osborne (Madelaine); Thomas Robert Osborne (Scott); and Anna Elizabeth Hite (Doug).

Carol was a devout servant of Our Lord as a longtime and active member of Chapel of Our Saviour Episcopal Church where she served on Alter Guild. Her ashes will rest eternally in the church columbarium.

Other devotions in her life included the Broadmoor Garden Club where she served as President, Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, and, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where she was a docent for more than 26 years. Additionally, she played the piano under the study of her dear teacher Mr. Charles Day.

Other interests included reading, gardening, travel, classical music, aerobic dancing and especially, Oklahoma Sooner football.

Carol was adoringly known as CiCi to her three beautiful granddaughters, Carly and Katherine Hite of Charlotte, NC, and, Lily Osborne of Denver. Carol is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Shaeffer of Springfield, MO and Jody Tilman of Boulder City, NV.

Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Wednesday, January 6, 2016, the Chapel of Our Saviour Episcopal Church, 8 Fourth Street in Colorado Springs.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Carol's name to the Chapel of our Saviour or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Dear Osborne family,
I am so sorry for your great loss. As family neighbors on Scorpio Circle, I have wonderful memories of your Mom in my childhood years. She was a kind and precious soul! I will always remember the Oklahoma Sooners flag flying proudly at your home on game days. Sending you all my love and prayers of comfort.

Robert, Joseph, Thomas & Anna. Very heartbroken to hear of your Mother's passing. I have not seen her in 20 years, but have the best memories at Uncle Dale's and Aunt Letha's house in Enid. She was so beautiful, kind and had a heart of gold. Prayers for your family. Rhonda Miller (your Mother's cousin).
