Mom, every day brings a new reason to celebrate you. John always says, "What would Carol do?" hoping I follow your lead. And a lot of your family got together this year at both Christmas and after to honor our closeness and relationship, and Jarett and Emily became engaged! At the Broadmoor, where Nana and Da had their honeymoon! Bi celebration!!

Hi Mom. Love you so much. Amazing passed by the hospital today and it just hit me the last time I saw you. My heart hurts but is full of love.

October 18, 2018

Carol, I still have a tough time with coming to grip with you leaving. I take walks on the trail that goes up above Mark Reyner;s stables and think of you. We all went through a lot together, which I believe made us stronger. So many wonderful times, handicapping the Dogs together and so many others. I will always miss those times. Thanks so much for being there when I needed someone the most.

Dear Mom,
I so miss you. Every day I think of your time in the hospital, and how you reached out to me at all hours once you went in on Christmas day. I thought you would come out but I was wrong. My soul hurts and I don't know how to heal myself. I'm back to church after a year but it's not enough. So many tears all the time. I'm sorry; I know you want me to be stronger. I'll keep trying.

As a class officer, I am writing to express our sympathy to your family at your great loss. Carol was such a lively, dynamic person. She will be greatly missed. In our Reunion notes, she expressed such joy at her relationships with her children and grandchildren. I hope that is a great comfort to all of you.
Sincerely, Jane Beaver Brooks - Class of 1955

Thinking of you girlfriend.
Be strong. Have a couple really good cries…they are so underrated! Know your pals have your back and are with you in spirit…and hope to be there in person soon.

Sudden death is not easy…having gone through it. Though if you think about the alternative it's not all that bad. Getting old is not for sissies that's for sure.
Just promise me you will give yourself a break and take some time just for YOU. I love you girl. Now you have an angel watching over you…
Kisskiss,
ML

Dana, thank you. I am Robert Conrad's wife, Annette and am writing this for him. He broke his right knee-cap two weeks ago and is in a brace.

He read about her death in the "PRESS JOURNAL".

"Bob" said to tell you how fortunate you were to have her as your mother. He thought fondly of your mother and your grand-father. He dated your mother in high school and after "off and on" for several years and valued her friendship. He says that if it hadn't been for her, he would have been shipped out on a destroyer during the Korean War. She was very ill and he had been staying with her at night. He missed his transportation to "Great Lakes" and they left without him. He was sent to Pensacola and remained there the entire time.

The last time Bob spoke with her, he said that he felt she was ill but it was not discussed.

We will visit and read the feature. Thank you for letting him know.

We were sad to hear about Carol passing. She took so much time to connect with me, which I passed on to my 2 sisters, Cindy and Susan. Your mother was best friends with our mother, Beverly Brown in Louisiana. I so enjoyed connecting and getting to know Carol. I see she and my mother having a great reunion in Heaven!!
