Carol Joan Weber, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and longtime resident of Colorado Springs, died peacefully at home on September 9th at the age of 86. Carol was born in Hamden, Connecticut to Earl Leroy and Edith Wilhelmina (Anderson) Shoemaker on December 3, 1936. She graduated from Albany High School in Albany, NY, Class of 1954, and Elmira College in Elmira, NY, Class of 1958.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband William Weber in 2015, her mother Edith in 1992, her father Earl in 1954, and her brother Robert in 1929.
Carol married her first husband, David Wainwright, in 1959. They settled in Buffalo, NY, where both of their children were born. The family relocated several times while the children were young; first to Lakewood, NY, then to Hinsdale, IL, and finally to Colorado Springs.
Carol married her second husband, Bill Weber, in 1983. Bill was the love of her life and they were together for almost 32 years. In the early 1990's, Carol and Bill founded the Colorado Country Antique Mall, which continues in business today as the Sweet William Antique Mall.
Carol was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Colorado Women's Golf Association and the Country Club of Colorado. Among her many golfing accomplishments over the years, she scored a Hole-In-One on the 11th hole of the CCC on March 26, 1987.
Carol is survived by her son Jon Wainwright of Austin, TX; daughter Judy (Jeff) Monroe of Lillington, CO; stepdaughter Susan Tedrow-Bruner (Brad) of Franktown, CO; former spouse David Wainwright of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren Katy Wainwright, Devi Pink, Chelsea (Robert) Johnson, Taylor Monroe, and Keaton Monroe; great-grandchildren Egan Johnson and Arden Johnson, and many wonderful friends living in Colorado, New York, Arizona and elsewhere.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol's name may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St., Colorado Springs, CO, 80906.
