To Caroline's Family:
The many hours of hitting tennis balls with Caroline taught me to understand and appreciate her tenacity and independence. We would hit at 2:00 in the afternoon becaused she wanted to become "inured" to the heat! And when she was ready to quit tennis, it was on her terms, mainly because she didn't want to let her partners down. We missed her when she left tennis, we missed her when she left town and we will miss her now even more.
My prayers are with you all.

As a member of The Reviewers Book Club I'm sure I join the others in regretting the passing of Caroline. She was a delightful addition to our group for many years and we have sorely missed her since her move to Florida.

Caroline was such a wonderful friend and I will miss her dearly. Our friendship centered mainly around tennis. We were the team of Pope and Church which Caroline would announce cheerfully to our opponents to intimidate them! There are so many memories of tournaments and tennis parties. Her 70th birthday was held at Gates in the tennis barn where we played until 2 AM. The last party was her 90th and although it didn't involve tennis, she hosted most of her dearest friends and family with great class. It was indeed my pleasure to have been a part of her life.

To the family of Caroline Pope,
I join Caroline's many, many friends off and on the tennis court, who will sadly miss her warm and generous friendship. I treasure the many memories of our times.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Family of Caroline,
I first met Caroline when I was the manager of the Broadmoor Tennis Shop in 1977. I was young, she was intimidating. We became friends. We always compared notes on what books we were reading. Later, i had the great pleasure of playing tennis with Caroline. It was always fun playing with her, and always awful to play across the net from her--just waiting for her lob or drop shot! What a woman! I am so thankful that Caroline was a part of my life.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Family and friends of Caroline Pope...
I will always remember Caroline as one of the most remarkable, athletic woman...at her age. I used to have the honor of filling in for someone in her tennis foursomes at the Broadmoor...Gates...and the Garden of the Gods. The last time I can remember seeing her was her 80th birthday party at the Country Club of Colorado. (Gates) This was in 1988 or 1989.
It was always a pleasure to be with her and watch her ability on the tennis court.
Sincerely,
Kathie McComb

When I moved to Colorado Springs 30 years ago, I began playing tennis at Cheyenne Mountain Country Club against your Mother, Ginny Fullerton and Florence Carnegie, to name a few. Each time, it was a good, fun, competitive match where I always learned a bit more about the game of tennis. I was honored to know your Mother and send my condolences to your family.

My mother Lois Sabol, ran the Episcopal Thrift House for many years and know your mother. Friendships are a precious gift in life. We appreciate that our mothers enjoyed each other. May you each be comforted in the great love and long life shared, through memories.
