Carolyn Santiago Obituary

Carolyn Cullom Nicholson Santiago died in Kimble County, Texas, on January 10, 2006. She was born in 1917 in Carson Lake Township, Mississippi County, Arkansas, to Joseph Ransom Cullom, Sr., and Callie Thurman Cullom. Carolyn attended Wilson, Arkansas schools and Southwestern University in Memphis, Tennessee. She married Howell Anderson "Snookie" Nicholson, Jr. in 1936 and lived in Driver, Arkansas until December 1968 when she moved to Wilson. In June of 1970, Carolyn moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she married William Santiago and lived until shortly before her death. Carolyn was preceded in death by both of her husbands along with two brothers: John Charles Cullom and Joseph Ransom Cullom, Jr. She is survived by her four children: Carolyn Nicholson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Anne Nicholson Rose and her husband, Pat of Junction, Texas; Howell Anderson Nicholson, III and his wife, Meg of Hampstead, North Carolina; and William Edward Nicholson and his wife, Karen of Dallas, Texas; and her three stepchildren: Bill Santiago and wife, Carolyn, Carmen Santiago, and Bianca Lumsden of Colorado Springs. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Other surviving family members are brother, Jerry Cullom and wife, Mary Frances; sister, Mary Williams; and sister-in-law Kathryn Cullom of Wilson, Arkansas. Memorial graveside services will be held on May 20, 2006 at Mississippi County Memorial Cemetery in Osceola, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Vistacare Foundation, 1001 Water Street, Suite B-100, Kerrville, Texas 78028; or the charity of your choice.
