Carolyn Sue Schudel was born to Roy and Thelma Walker, on April 24th, 1935 in Alton Illinois. She met Donald Schudel while attending Alton High School and graduated in June of 1953.
In 1954 Carolyn and Donald were married. They welcomed two sons, Jeff and Mike, just two years apart. They had many stops along the way as an Army family including Maryland. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1966, and it has been their home since.
Carolyn was grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Marlo, Randi, Steven, Shanna, Lauren, and Danny. She loved her family and enjoyed going camping with them and trips to Lake of the Ozarks. There were many nights spent round the table playing board games. Carolyn always made sure the holidays were special.
As her grandkids got older Carolyn and Don started to snowbird in Harlingen TX.
Carolyn was blessed with 19 great grandchildren and loved them with all her heart.
Carolyn passed away at the age of 87 on Friday July 8th surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents her cousin Bev, and her daughter-in-law Roberta. She is now at home and in peace with her family.
Funeral Services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Aug 22nd, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Hemophilia Foundation.
