Catherine Thompson Obituary

In Loving Memory Catherine, 85, passed peacefully from this life into her eternal home in Heaven and into the arms of the Lord with her family by her side in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi to Rev. Abner B. and Hattie Bell (Stokes) Harmon. Catherine married her loving husband, Woodie Leon Thompson, March 31, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia. They spent 66 happy and special years together. They moved from Mississippi to Colorado Springs in 1955 where they made their home. They had 5 children who they loved dearly. They also spent some time in California where they made many friends including Mike and Toni Dill who they considered their adoptive children. Catherine spent many hours sitting in her recliner reading her Bible and praying for her family and friends. She loved Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and liked sharing them with the Staff at Mt. Saint Francis, who took wonderful care of her. Catherine is survived by her children, Cathy (Gale) Hatfield, Margaret (Joel) Mays, Robert (Yvette) Thompson, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Reverend Craig (Ruth) Thompson of Forest, Mississippi, daughter-in-law, Alma Thompson of Otis, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy McWilliams of Meridian, Mississippi. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Leon, her son Daniel Leon, her parents, 11 siblings and two grandsons. We will all miss you so much. Your love and memories will remain forever in our hearts until we are together again. A Viewing will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 from 1-2pm with a Funeral Service at 2:00pm with the Interment to follow. All will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home.
