Charles Blackwell Obituary

Washington, DC - Funeral services for Charles Blackwell, 67, formerly of Jacksonville, will be on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Charles Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery. Mr. Blackwell will arrive at the church one hour prior to his services. Anniston Funeral Services in charge. Mr. Blackwell passed on February 24, 2013 in Redmond, Washington. Survivors include his wife, Essie Rimpsey Blackwell; daughters, Fatima Blackwell and Shakeria Blackwell Walker, Atlanta, Ga.; stepsons, Freddy V. Rimpsey Jr., of Oxford, and Chad Rimpsey of Louisville, Ky; seven grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy B. Wright, of Tacoma, Wash., Bettye B. Thomas, of Mobile, Bobbye B. Duckworth, of Bellevue, Wash. and Sylia B. Rowe, of New Haven, Conn. and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elnora Blackwell; siblings, Mary Clifford Crawford, James Edward and Thomas Lee Blackwell. We are sending our sympathy to all of you in the loss of your brother Charles. We are deeply sadded by his passing.

We will always cherish the memories of Charles and his family that we have had growing up in Anniston and into our adulthood.
