Charles Caudle Obituary

Charles V. Caudle, age 77, passed away on June 18, 2014. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 39 years. He retired as a Tech Sergeant from the United States Air Force. After retirement Charles served as a military police officer for twenty years in the Department of Defense in Pueblo, Colorado.

Charles was born on August 10th, 1936 to William Bryant and Janie Elizabeth (Baker) Caudle in Atkins, Arkansas. On April 29th, 1959 Charles married Eleonora Maria Schimon in Vienna, Austria.

Charles enjoyed watching football, his preferred team was the Denver Broncos. In his later years he took pride in caring for his family's lawn. Charles had a passion for collecting ball caps and antique clocks and he loved to tease his grandchildren.

He served in the United States Air Force for nearly 22 years. During his time in the Air force, he finished high school and attended Pikes Peak Community College for two years. Charles served from 1 June 1967 to 1 April 1968 in Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service, personal courage and commitment to mission accomplishment against a hostile force.

Charles is survived by his loving wife: Eleonora Maria; his children: Michael James, Vivian Lee and her husband, Jason Jon Leavell, and Robert Mark; his grandchildren: Noah Alexander and Sophia Marie Kemper, and Riley Lindsey Caudle; his siblings: Lola Watson, Nina and Charlie Hensley and their children, Billie Harrison and her children and Jim and Pat Caudle along with their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Janie Elizabeth Caudle.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Community Center Chapel, United States Air Force Academy with full military honors.
