Charles Cook Obituary

Charles F. Cook, a long time resident of Colorado Springs Colorado passed away on July 8, 2016 from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease.

Charles was father to six children: David, Stephen, Peggy, Jean, Paul and Charles H., grandfather to twelve and great grandfather to sixteen.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Ellen Glotfelty Cook.Charles was born in Talihina, Oklahoma on April 5, 1929 to Charles L. and Bessie Cook.

His family migrated to California where he met his future wife and went into military service. He served in the USAF for 23 years and retired in Colorado Springs.

Besides being an avid gardener, he greatly loved the many animals that were a part of his and Betty's household. His love of classical music was shared by his wife during retirement years in the majestic shadow of Pikes Peak.

The special love they shared with their grandchildren left an indelible memory. During his later years, despite the disease, Charles displayed a beautiful singing voice not heard in his early years. He shared this and much more with his friends and staff at the Barton House, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Charles will be missed greatly by family. Private services will be held in Colorado Springs in the fall.

Having the opportunity to spend time with Charles taught me so much about gardening, the Alzheimer's disease, and family. He was an absolute character and lived a life that gave him many memories! He will be truly missed! Thank you to his children for letting me be a part of his life!
