Charles Emery Obituary

Charles "Ken" Kenneth Emery was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on July 2, 1935 to Luther and Alma Emery and died on May 24, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Emery family moved to Washington, where Ken spent his childhood enjoying the outdoors. He worked in the lumber industry for a good portion of his adult life. In 1981, Ken and his wife, Shirley Mitton, bought El Dorado Gallery in Old Colorado City, which he ran until 2013.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis; his sister, Rosalie; and his wife, Shirley.

He is survived by his sister, Loretta; six children, Sherry, Tom, Leona, Jody, Shirley, and Joe; three stepchildren, David, Catherine, and Edward Mitton; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Ken's kind and gentle spirit touched many people and he will be deeply missed.

A Gathering in Ken's honor will be held at 12:00PM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 3109 Pennsylvania Avenue.
