Charles Howison Obituary

Charles "Chuck" William Howison, 85, of Colorado Springs passed away on September 11, 2007. Charles was born on March 7, 1922 in Prospect Township, Marion County, Ohio to his late parents, Lee Arlington and Elizabeth Irene (Romoser) Howison. He was married to his beloved late wife, Betty Jane (Everett) who took her final journey on October 11, 2003. Charles enlisted in the Air Corps of the Army during World War II and was stationed at Ardmore, Oklahoma and Ent AFB, Colorado as a Morse-Code Operator. After serving three years and receiving an honorable discharge, he went to work for Dodies Service Appliance, Halley's Appliances, and finally retired from Sears in 1984. He loved fishing and working in his garage, transforming wood into intricate creations. Charles is survived by his son, Charles Ray (Nora) Howison of Tacoma, Washington; Karen Sue (Gary) George of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving him are his five grandchildren: Sonja Gibson, Shelene Lewis, Lorenda Thomas, Cassie Scott, and Fern Michael, and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his three brothers, Arlington Boyd, Marion Owen, Sanford Frederick, and a sister Louisa Virginia Yost. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service in the chapel. A private committal service will take place Monday at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
