Dr. Charles Douglas Lain Sr, 79. Colorado Springs, CO. September 18th, 2025, on the road in the Garden of the Gods. Bicycle accident.
The son of John Lain and Alice Pye, Dr. Lain received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in December 1970.
Married to Mary J. Lain in 1969. Father of Charles Douglas Lain Jr. Grandfather of Robin, Samantha, Noah, and Benjamin.
Practiced Rheumatology in Colorado Springs from 1976 to 2016.
Predeceased by his mother, Alice Pye, his father, John Lain, and his brother Michael Lain.
He was a force to be reckoned, could never sit still for a second. When he played Mariocart with his grandkids he always chose to play Peach. He will be missed.
Memorial at Swan Law, on October 25th, 2025.

I grew up with Doug in Norris TN. I texted with him just a couple of days before he died. He will be missed.

I worked out at the Antlers gym for many years, as did "Dr. Doug" He didn't like me calling him that, I think because he was humble and felt the title was not suited to the surroundings. But he had a great sense of humor and appreciated it in others. He was always lively and fun. I feel like, it's sad news, but it's a perfect end to a well lived life...doing something he loved!

Dearest Mary, I was completely unaware of this terrible loss of Doug. I was in Cleveland for surgery and just open the paper and read this. I am devastated for you Mary. So many wonderful memories of fun times shared together, such happiness. Please know you are in my heart and prayers to God.
