Charles Pierson Obituary

Charles A. “Chuck� Pierson, age 62, a resident of Colorado Spring since 1991, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at his home in Colorado Springs after a long and courageous battle with COPD. He retired from the United States Air Force, after serving his country for 22 years receiving numerous awards and medals, and then was a civilian contractor with the United States Air Force Academy, retiring in 2009. Charles Arthur Pierson was born on October 5, 1947 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Carl A. and Catherine R. (Schneider) Pierson. He was a 1966 graduate of Sharon High School. He married Donna Lee Koosh on March 29, 1969 in Sharon. Chuck was a sports enthusiast who loved softball, bowling, and frequent trips to Cripple Creek. He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Stephanie; and his son, Charles A. “Chuck� Pierson, Jr., both of Colorado Springs; and a brother, James F. (wife, Bonnie) Pierson of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his two loving pets, Codie and Casper. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Margaret Pierson. A visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful� Chapel. Cremation is planned and a private inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Chuck's name may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Avenue Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
