Valdez Family, I was sad to read of Charlie's (Chuck as I referred to him) passing. Chuck and I were Wasson classmates, wrestling teammates, CU (Boulder) friends, and TRW co-workers. I hadn't seen Chuck since probably 1984 but during our time together, we were good friends and shared a lot of laughs and good times:
- first met Chuck while wrestling for Wasson as sophomores. I remember wrestling him in a tournament at the 92 lbs. weigh class. He told "let´s put on a good show" and started to plan what move each of us would make to make it a good show.
- we both attended CU starting in the summer of 76. We had many good times including listening to Peter Frampton´s "Live" album in his dorm room (he lived above me), drinking our share of Coors beer, hanging with our friends Orlando, Joyce and Linda, and staying up late to watch the sunrise from the Boulder Flatirons.
- the pic is from our having an air guitar concert in Joyce´s room while in Boulder
- enjoying our many trips back to Colorado Springs (when we had enough of Boulder) in his Vega.
- going on the TRW ski bus to Monarch, A-Basin and Breckenridge for a day of skiing. On one trip, as he got off the bus, he twisted his knee and ended up spending the entire day in the lodge at the bar.
- I´ll miss that mischievous smile, his chuckle, and the skip in his step.
My condolences to the entire Valdez family for your lost!
So long my friend,
Bernie Garduno

Farewell and remember my friend, when the bell is rung I will not cry for thee, knowing your love of bells and music now you are free. Free to be with your beloved wife, I wish you a peaceful afterlife. You will be missed Chaz. Wasson class of 1976.
