Charlotte Hirschy Obituary

Charlotte passed away quietly on September 1, 2008 with her daughter, Debbie, son-in-law, Dave and granddaughter, Teresa Rehm in their home in Black Forest, CO. Charlotte was born on October 6, 1922 in Huntington, IN to Everett and Mabel Louise Ellerman. She was raised in Ft Wayne. IN. She studied nursing in Chicago, IL. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Hirschy in 1943 and moved to Borger, TX where he was employed with Phillips Petroleum. Two of their three daughters were born there, Barbara and Sandra. They moved to Bartlesville, OK in 1949 where their third daughter, Deborah was born. Charlotte loved to cook, sew, fish with her sweetheart, Robert. Most of all she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired in 1972 from nursing and Robert retired in 1981, they traveled to Houston, TX, Carlsbad, CA and Colorado Springs, CO. They moved to Colorado in 1984 where they continued to enjoy fishing together. In 1999, they moved to Black Forest to live with their daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, David. Robert preceded her on March 29, 2008 and daughter, Barbara preceded her on July 21, 2008. Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Stamper of Carlsbad, CA and Deborah (David) Easley of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Teresa (Todd) Rehm of Santa Fe, TX. Rob Baker of Houston, TX, Kristen Stamper of Charlotte, NC and Randy Stamper of Carlsbad, CA; and four great grand children, Courtney Rehm of Lubbock, TX, Brandon Rehm of Galveston, TX, Britney (Michael) Dollar of Galveston, TX and Tricia Rehm of Santa Fe, TX. She is also survived by her two sisters, Maxine Kiessling of Ft. Wayne, IN, Betty Rose Jones of Ft. Wayne, IN, brother, Ev Ellerman of Los Angeles, CA and a very special cousin, Rosemary Turner of Ft. Wayne, IN. Heartfelt thanks go to Pike Peaks Hospice and their wonderful staff (especially Brenda E, Paige, Dr. Timmons, Bunny, Amy, Meredith, Archie, Rita and Jean). Also, heartfelt thanks go to a very special team of caregivers: Brenda W., Barbara, Amber, Colette, Lynn, Kristina and Diana who gave excellent care for Charlotte during the last five months.
