Charlotte Diane Poirier passed away suddenly yet peacefully in her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on January 15, 2026 at the age of 68. Charlotte was a kind and gracious soul, known for her friendly disposition, gentle spirit, and easygoing nature. She carried a calm presence that drew people in effortlessly along with a rare ability to find a place in everyone's heart. Her love of bright colors perfectly reflected her joyful and vibrant personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys (Mapes) England and George England, and her stepfather, Donald Blevins. Charlotte is survived by her former husband and cherished companion, Christopher Poirier; her children, Joshua St. John (wife Shannon) and Jessica Poirier; her beloved grandchildren, Conner and Jacob St. John; and her three aunts, Mary Mehlhaus, Sharon Korell, and Mary Mapes. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary England (wife Lisa) and Corey Blevins, along with many cousins and dear friends.
Charlotte loved traveling, camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. From her Volksmarches through nearly every German village she could visit during her six-year tenure in Germany to hikes in the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains, Charlotte experienced her love of nature first hand. When she wasn't adventuring, she could often be found immersed in a good book, building her own personal library, or expressing her creativity by painting Bob Ross inspired landscapes. A devoted animal lover, she held a special place in her heart for her dog Maggie, who passed in June 2025. After retiring in 2020, Charlotte eagerly looked forward to fulfilling her dream of visiting every U.S. National Park, having already explored many of them.
Charlotte will be remembered with deep affection and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte's honor to a local Humane Society or to organizations that support and preserve U.S. National Parks.
