Cheryl Schott Obituary

Cheryl Ann (Myers) Schott Cheryl Ann (Myers) Schott (68) passed away on February 11, 2013 in Tulare, after a valiant and well fought, decades-long, battle against cancer. Her attitude and spirit were amazing. Cheryl was pre-deceased by her parents Loman and Maxine Myers and husband Joseph L.Soares. Born in Tulare on July 24, 1944 to Loman and Maxine Myers owners/operators of Monty's Drive-in on West Inyo Street (1952-1982). Cheryl was also lovingly nurtured by Aunt Bernice Carns. Cheryl lived in Tulare, attended Tulare Union High School and was in the first graduating class of Tulare Western High School in 1962. Remembered by friends and family as a vibrant, fun-loving, and adventurous person, Cheryl enjoyed painting, gardening, reading biographies, shopping, cooking (remember the Christmas cookies!) and the latest gossip. We will always remember with humor her driving her tractor lawn mower to storage down Tulare avenue wearing her Chanel water boots. After attending stenography school Cheryl worked as a court reporter in Tulare County. She later worked in Human Resources at Nielsen's Creamery followed by the personnel department of Knudson Dairy. Married to Le'Roy Silva (1962) and Joseph L Soares (1978) of Tulare and Mike A. Schott, of Pixley (2008). Survived by husband Mike A. Schott; Aunt, Bernice Carns; two brothers, Jack Myers and wife Betty, and Robert Myers; son Mark Silva and life-partner Johnny Hernandez; daughter Kim Schneider; grand-daughters, Alexa and Eliza Schneider; four nephews, Robert Myers, Steve Myers, Scott Myers, and Doug Myers; niece Gina Mayes. Also survived by extended family including, 3 sons, Todd Soares, Darrow Soares, Rusty Schott and wife Pam; 5 daughters, Marian Soares Carriea and husband Steve, Michaela Bixler and husband Scott, Melinda Schott, Stephanie Rinker and husband Steve, and Erica Schott, 23 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday February, 18th, 2013 at 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North H Street, Tulare, Ca. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 232 Adams Road, Tipton, Ca., with burial at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 East Kern Ave., Tulare. She lived a very beautiful, colorful life and will be missed by all. To know her was to love her : PEACE It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things AND still "be calm in your heart". Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
