Chris Tabeling Obituary

Tabeling
Chris Steven Tabeling
1971 - 2018
Chris Steven Tabeling, beloved husband, father and son, passed away March 3, 2018 in his Colorado Springs home. Chris had been bravely battling stage IV colon cancer for over 2 years.
Chris was born in Champaign, IL to Tom and Rachel on August 23, 1971. Chris moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1978 and graduated from Pueblo South High School. Chris earned his bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and was a huge CSU football fan. Chris completed his master's degree in Education Administration. Chris loved teaching and coaching, and he has touched the lives of many students, families and communities in his over 24 years in education. He has called ThunderRidge High School (Highlands Ranch, CO) his family since 2004. Once a Grizzly, Always a Grizzly.
Chris and his wife, Kristin have been married over 16 years. Chris is most proud of his girls, Caitlyn Elaina (15) and Jayna Catherine (12). Chris is survived by his wife, daughters, parents, Tom and Rachel Tabeling of Pueblo and many other family and friends he loved unconditionally. Chris loved being outdoors, mountain biking, traveling to new destinations, but mostly, Chris loved his family. His eyes sparkled the most when he was sharing stories of his daughters. Chris fought cancer with never ending hope and courage. He never stopped fighting to be with his family and Chris will be remembered for his fierce and unrelenting ability to "Be The Storm".
Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00am at Shove Memorial Chapel, Colorado College, Colorado Springs.

I worked for Chris for 1 year at TRHS. It was my first (and last) time working in a public high school. I was expereinced and a good teacher, just not a good fit - and that is what Chris saw and said. So kind, always seeing the best in people. He excuted a really tough job with love and grace and strength. I lost my father to colon cancer at age 57; my heart goes out the Tabeling family.
