Christine Alvey Obituary

Christine M. Alvey, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on October 25, 2015 in Colorado Springs. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, January 31, 1926 to the late Thomas and Margaret Lewis.

Chris was a vibrant lady who loved to travel the world. She especially loved the transatlantic crossings by ship to visit her family in Scotland and England. She loved the ocean and made many trips to the sea in her childhood and as an adult.

Chis married in 1948 to William Sterling Alvey, deceased 1978. She had three children, daughters Lorraine Nechaev, Elaine Coleman (deceased) and son Bryan Alvey (Anna). She had two grandchildren that she loved deeply and was extremely proud of, Nicholas James Alvey and Melinda Elizabeth Alvey.

Preceded in death by sisters Myra Lewis and Helen Ormond, brothers Robert, Peter and Joe Lewis. Survived by sisters Margaret Rae and Carol Ann Forster both of Scotland and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Chris' radiant smile and personality will be missed by all who loved and cherished her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Services will be private.

Mrs.Alvey, such a special lady in my life, first at Webster elementary school and then at Safeway pharmacy. You will be missed.
