Christine Elders Obituary

Christine Elders, of Palmer Lake, CO, went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2015 in Colorado Springs. She left peacefully at 8:30am, having lived a life on this earth of 100 years 8 months.

She was born Stena Cornelia Blaauw in Chicago, IL, on Oct 23, 1914 to Abraham Vegte Blaauw and Wilhelmina Zuidema Blaauw. She is survived by 3 sons, Glenn (Linda), Eugene (Betty), and Daniel (January) Elders, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She is remembered lovingly by her many dear friends and "adopted family." She loved her Lord, her family, and her music. She was a piano teacher and musician for all of her life, and instilled a love of music in many people's hearts.

A memorial service is being planned for the near future to be held at her church, First Presbyterian of Colorado Springs.

We had the pleasure of getting to know Ms. Elders in her later years. She inspired my daughters and I to live with fervor...to read much and enjoy music. We will miss her very much.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. She was a fine musician, and played the piano well into her 90's. The American Music Society dearly misses Christine.

We mourn with you. A loved one lost can grieve the heart, and make us yearn for tomorrow, When God will keep the promise he made of no pain, no death, and no sorrow. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Chris, We will all miss you. Thank you for playing your piano for me when I visited you on your 93rd. And thank you for so many things you did for me. You always made me smile when you called me your fifth son. Say hi to Harry. With love, gratitude and affection.
