Christopher Markel Obituary

Christopher Markel, age 21, died unexpectedly at his home on July 6, 2017. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend. He had recently been working for the Fountain Library System.

Christopher Tran Markel was born on November 9, 1995 at Fort Carson, Colorado to Nevin and Rosanna (Tran) Markel.

He grew up in Widefield and had attended Pinello Elementary School, Watson Junior High School and was a 2014 graduate of Widefield High School.

He then attended Pikes Peak Community College and worked at the Fountain Library. He was active in the youth program at Faith Lutheran Church in Security. He was also an energetic volunteer and young man of faith.

He is survived by his mother; Rosanna Tran Markel of Colorado Springs, his sister; Amy David of Colorado Springs, his beloved nephew; Dylan Buck of Colorado Springs, his maternal grandmother; Mrs. Dong Tran of Massachusetts, his paternal grandmother; Eleanor Markel of Georgia, his aunts; Jane Markel of Georgia, Tuyet Martin (Darren) of New Hampshire, and Mai Tran (Steve Cardillo) of Massachusetts, his uncles; Khiem Tran, Sebastien Tran (Stephanie Honett), and Dean Tran (Kerry), all of Massachusetts, and his cousins; Isabelle, Olivia, Madilyn, Dean Jr., Alexis, and Connor. He also leaves to cherish his memory many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; Nevin Markel and his grandfather; Nhan Tran.

He will be dearly missed.
