Christopher Montesano Obituary

Chris was born on November 23, 1958, in White Plains, NY.  He died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Florissant, CO, on September 28, 2005. Chris Montesano has been a core member of www.singanewsong.50megs.com. Colorado Springs Faith and Light Group for over 15 years. He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Parish. When Chris was not feeding the birds, recycling aluminum, making puzzles, gardening, fishing, shoveling snow in the winter time, making rosary beads for the missions or meeting with his F&L group, he did volunteer work. In addition to his many other achievements, Chris received a volunteer award at www.stfrancis.org Mt. St. Francis. Chris Montesano participated in the first www.specialolympics.com. Special Olympics, often attended by Kennedy Family members.  On the team from www.coletta.org/index. St. Coletta's School in Hanover, Massachusetts he won first-place medals for running. At a time when Cardinal Cushing of Boston traveled with Sister Shawn, School Director, and several  children to Lourdes, France. After Cardinal Cushing died, the funeral procession, including Kennedy Family members, went to the school where the Cardinal was buried. He had been a true friend of those with mental retardation. Chris attended those services. The school was renamed www.coletta.org/cushingschool. Cardinal Cushing School. Chris continued to participate in the Special Olympics as long as he resided there. He was proud of  Special Olympics and his medals. Chris is survived by his mother, Patricia Montesano;  four brothers: Frank, Paul, Mike, James;  three sisters: Donna Diedrich, Patti Mattas, and Rosemary Sweat. Twenty-seven nieces and nephews also survive. Chris is predeceased by his father, Frank Montesano. Viewing will be Monday, October 3, at Blunt Mortuary 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Recitation at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
