Christopher Rush Obituary

Christopher John Rush, 42, of Colorado Springs, died March 25 of cardiac tamponade while skiing at Monarch Mountain on a beautiful "blue bird" day. He was born Oct. 9, 1970, in Kansas City, Mo., to Dr. Larry and Julie Rush. He grew up in Colorado Springs. Chris worked with his father as a dental laboratory technician since 2002. His work allowed him to create fangs and costume teeth, one of his many passions. A borg from Star Trek, the Joker, and Freddy Krueger were among his creations. Most recently he had started pursuing an additional career in voice-overs on radio and television. He was very passionate about his conservative values advocating for the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which he felt were paramount to his kids' future. Above all else Chris lived for his three children, Ali Smith, Adam and Jacob Rush and his grandson Cillian River Crowe. Chris also enjoyed teaching tricks to his beloved Jack Russell, Petey. Friends said of Chris that he was a creative vanguard, on the cutting edge of everything, who left "quite the legacy." He was a confessed Christian. He is survived by his parents; brothers, Paul Rush of Colorado Springs and Ben Rush of Salida; daughter, Ali of Russellville, Ark.; two sons, Adam and Jacob of Colorado Springs; grandson, Cillian; his grandmother, Lucille Rush; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation to be held at Blunt Mortuary Friday, March 29th 5:00 pm. Funeral services to be held at First Christian Church, located at 16 E. Platte, Saturday, March 30th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Firstbank, 6540 So. Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, for his children's education.

Chris' passing took me by surprise as I just learned of this news a few days ago....
I would like to say that Chris is the dearest and most loyal friend to those he took under his wing and embraced. He always was protective and loyal in our friendship. I'm deeply saddened that our Lord call him all too soon for us, but I know that he was needed above. He now lives in peace and has eternal life where as the rest of us are still on earthly ground living in boot camp.
I will see him one day and we shall rejoice once again... Larry and Julie, my condolences to you both as well as his beautiful children. He will be greatly missed and always much loved!
Blessings, Leana
