Christopher, 62, was born in Spencer, IA, to John and Lorelei (Klippstein) Vollmar. As a young boy he had 12 living grandparents.
Chris attended elementary school in LeMars, IA. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1972. He attended Air Academy Schools where he participated in music activities. Chris graduated from UCCS. Chris designed and started a non-profit business in Denver that delivered pet food and arranged for free veterinarian services for persons living with AIDS. Chris' talents included making gourmet meals, creating interesting landscapes, painting canvases, singing in choruses, and decorating home interiors.
His family enjoyed visiting Chris' homes in MA, ME, D.C., RI, NYC, St. John Island and Denver. Important in his life were dogs Spot, Rio and Beau.
Surviving Chris are his parents, John and Lorelei, bother Alex Vollmar (FL.), nephews, Michael and Garrett Vollmar (FL.),Uncle Tom Klippstein (Ruth Marie) VA., Aunt Mary Ann Wess (Roger) NE, Aunt Cindy Mahrdt (CoSp) ,and 6 cousins.

I am so very sorry to learn that Chris had died. I was impressed with his paintings and later amazed with his artistic work in the landscaping at your home. May you have peace as you move forward.

My memories of AAHS include Chris in so many of them. He was a joy to be with; funny and loving and smart. Our summer of lifeguarding together was the best ever.
My heart goes out to Chris´s family.
