Cindy Clayton Obituary

Cindy passed away peacefully on November 16, 2010, after an extended illness. She was born in Duluth, MN, September 29, 1960 and moved to Colorado Springs with her family shortly after. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1978 and started her career with the Colorado Springs Police Department as an integral part of the Records and Identification Section. During her tenure, Cindy received numerous awards including: Four Written Commendations, Six Commander's Commendations, Ace Award and Quality Level III Award. Cindy severed the citizens of Colorado Springs and the Police Department with distinction, honor and dedication to duty for 27 years. Cindy loved being outdoors. She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting with her Father and riding motorcycles, where she was recognized for her skill in racing motor cross on the ice. Cindy was a beloved daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a very caring person who brought happiness to everyone she touched. Cindy is survived by her parents, Joan and Warren Clayton, her sister Patti Clayton of San Diego, California and her long time best friend, Cyndi Perrin.

Cindy was an amazing lady that I had a lot of laughs with at work. She was very kind and would do anything to help. I will miss her.

Sending my condolences to Warren, Joan, Patti, Cyndi and Mike. Cindy was an awesome women and I will miss her. We shared a lot of good times at work and on the ski slopes. I'm so sorry for your loss, but know she is happy and in a better place! I will pray for us and also that Cindy rest in peace!

I was sad to hear of Cindy's death. We served together in the ID Bureau of the Colorado Springs Police Department and she was always a concerned and hard working employee.
