Claire Donovan Obituary

Claire Donovan, age 76, of Colorado Springs, CO passed peacefully at her home on December 13th, 2016 surrounded in love by her family. During her lifetime, Claire was a mother to many, including many that were not biologically hers, a dear and devoted friend, and a caring and compassionate registered nurse. In addition to her professional caregiving, Claire gave generously of her time as a volunteer for hospice, the Marian House, Catholic Charities, and others. She shared her vast compassion, resources and love with all those around her (strangers included).



Claire was the youngest daughter of Joe and Elizabeth Gallagher of Bellows Falls Vermont, and the younger sister and closest friend of Patricia Fennessey. Claire is survived by son Chris, daughters Stephanie and Lisa, grandchildren Kellen, Kendall, Austin and Zoe, and her ex-husband John. A mass will be held at Holy Apostles Church in Colorado Springs on January 21 at 5:30pm, followed by a Celebration of Life on January 22. Her family, friends, and colleagues love Claire and will miss her dearly!





In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marian House through Catholic Charities, 228 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, 80903, or CCharitiesCC.org/donate. Select the "Donate Now" button, complete the form as desired. In order to dedicate the donation to Claire, select the "I would like to dedicate this donation to someone" button under the "Additional Information" section." Select "Memorial" for Claire E. Donovan.
