Clarice Grothe Obituary

Clarice A. Grothe, 70, a resident of Colorado Springs for 45 years, passed away suddenly, and peacefully on Saturday, March 15th, at her home of many years.



She was born in Flagler, CO., on November 11th, 1943 to the late Carl & Josephine Spencer. Raised in Gering, Nebraska, Clarice graduated from Gering High School in 1962, and made her way back to her home state of Colorado to raise her family and begin her career as an accountant. She continued in that field and for the last 17 years she worked at Central Colorado Management with her dear friend, and "boss" Eric Steiner. Clarice was known in her job for her attention to detail, and gracious character. She would meet many friends at CCM including the love of her life Frank Ernest Grothe, who preceded her in death on July 5th, 2011.



Clarice will be remembered most for the love she gave wherever she could. A source of strength and serenity to many, Clarice was always able to listen without passing judgment. Throughout her life, Clarice maintained a love for God's creations, enjoying the mountains, and always looking forward to spring and summer where she would spend her time working in her yard, and hosting family BBQ'S.



Clarice is survived by many friends in Idaho, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Colorado; Michael and Michele Grothe, Ryan and Barb Grothe, Jason and Sean Grothe; her daughter Rhonda Wilhelmi and son-in-law Greg; her son Matthew Kvasir; and her grandsons Michael Harper, Justin Harper, Colton Harper and Preston Harper.

Services will be held at 11 AM, March 20th, at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Rd.
