Clarissa Keeling Obituary

Clarissa's long battle with diabetes ended in hospice at her home in Lochbuie, Colorado attended by her husband, children, and other family members. Clarissa is survived by: her husband, Terry Keeling; mom and "dad", Susie and Harry Hamilton; sisters Verna Sue (Richard) Crawford of Vancouver, WA., Joanne (Bill) Barker of Glendale, AZ., Debra Jean (Terry) Buckman of Colorado Springs; brother, Charles Edwin (Denise) Rains of Austin, CO.; and her children Janice Bell Ross, Joseph Bell, Zachariah (Tamra) Keeling and Melissa Keeling (Richard) Broome. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Charles and Jerry Rains. She will be greatly missed by eight grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. Clarissa lived in Colorado Springs for many years and attended Palmer High School. She was medically retired as manager of APG Security Company in Colorado Springs in 1997. She will be lovingly remembered by the employees and clients of that firm as Clarissa Bell. Her husband at that time, Sam, preceded her in death. Clarissa found comfort and joy in Christian music and her home was often filled with its sounds. Both she and Terry received inspiration from their music in their efforts to lead lives pleasing to the Lord. Clarissa's faith in Jesus and her courage in facing her disease provide an example to those who love her and are assured they will once again be with her in heaven. Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of Clarissa's life at Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene, 4120 E. Fountain Blvd., on June 5th at 10:00 a.m. The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care Clarissa received from Heartland Hospice during her final days and request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in her name to: Heartland Hospice 8774 Yates Dr., Ste. #100 Westminster, CO 80031

Something lead me here today, and wow, this is the last day, so to speak, to sign the guestbook. So, here are my thoughts to whomever may read:

We love you Clarissa! You were an awesome woman, mother and grandmother.
I know the heavens are rejoicing with your presence. I am glad that we have many pictures of you and the kids to share with them and their kids as the years here on earth go on. It may seem that the many years we spent together as a family, and the many ways in which you have always been a part of our lives, nomatter what, was somehow lost in the end, but not so for us. You will be missed and remembered always. Until we meet again!

Love,

Janice, Crystal, Michael,and Connie.

We will dearly miss Aunt Clarissa's optimism and unquestioning love. She has undoubtedly gone straight to heaven and is smiling down at us. Love to all.
