Clark Rice Obituary

On Tuesday, April 19, 2016, Michael passed away at his beloved cabin in Black Forest, Colorado from natural causes.

Clark is survived by his wife, Marcia; their son, Paul; and his two siblings, Sherry and Robin.

Michael was born on February 13, 1948 in Vero Beach, Florida to Clark Tipton and Mary Barbara Rice.

The family then moved to Albany, Georgia in 1962., spending his high school years in South Georgia.

Mike showed a solid talent as a mechanic building 1955 and 1957 Chevys', then applying this skill in breaking speed limits on and sometimes off the road.

After graduating Albany High School in 1967, he enlisted in the Marines Corps, serving from October 1967 through June 1969 as a Field Radio Operator and a Huey machine gunner, providing ground troop coverage.

He was then Honorably Discharged with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with One Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Good Conduct Medal.

After completing a degree at the DeVry Institute in Chicago, Michael worked in nuclear power plants across the country, transitioning as a programmer in various industries and finally ending up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Later, he found his Shangri-La, Log Cabin in Black Forest, and met and married his wife, Marcia and helped to raise their son, Paul.
