Mr. Burke was a passionate teacher who cared deeply for his students and their success not only in the classroom but in life. God Bless you

Cheyenne Mountain lost an incredible teacher when Mr. Burke retired, and now the world has lost an outstanding man. When we would see him around town (usually at a restaurant or at a garage sale), he acted like he had all the time in the world to talk to you. He taught the same way - he cared deeply about all his students. Those of us who got to know him when we were adults were blessed. He will be missed by many.

I loved Mr. Burke, he was always one of my favorite teachers at CMJH. So sad.

It is with profound sadness that I read today of Claude's passing. I taught English in room 8 right next to Claude for many, many years. His smile and infectious laugh brightened each day. I remember his great jubilation the day Shannon was born. He was a gifted teacher, an extraordinary individual, a wonderful colleague. Cindy, Shannon and Claude's family: May God surround you with his Comfort and abiding Peace. Leslie Pearce Bois

Mr. Burke was an awesome math and science teacher at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High as I had him from 1970 - 1973. He was also my Freshman football coach in 1972. Later I had the honor of working with him at Sears Southgate from 1983 - 1984. He was not only a wonderful teacher, a great coach, he was a dear friend!

Claude was one of the first people to welcome me to Cheyenne Mtn. Junior High when I moved to Colorado. I enjoyed coaching and teaching with him. He always had a terrific attitude and was fun to be around. Helped me coach the hurdles on the track team. In the 13 years I worked with him(I was one of the counselors) I never had a student complain about "Mr.Burke". He treated everyone with respect. Great guy! Regards to the Family.

I have very good memories of Mr. Burke as my math teacher at CMJH. He was young and made learning math fun. I did well with him as my teacher. Also, I got to know him in later years as I substitute taught. One fond memory I have of him is he told me he would quit teaching when the first kid came through who said, "you had my great grandfather as a student". Just a joke, but I thought he was a super guy and I know God has a special place for teachers, may you be comforted in knowing he helped a lot of children. God Bless.
