Claudia Gordon Obituary

Colorado Springs resident Claudia Jane Thomas Gordon, age 69, left her earthly home and entered heaven restored on November 10, 2008. Her passing was unexpected after a successful surgery in late October. Claudia was born in Denver to Pete and Madeline Thomas. She graduated from Denver's North High School in 1956 and went on to earn two degrees from Friends University in Wichita, KS. Her professional career included teaching, business sales and recruiting. She also served as a Mary Kay Cosmetic consultant for more than thirty years. Claudia was musical director for a number of church choirs both in CO and KS. Most recently, she was a member of the Velvet Hills Sweet Adeline's in Colorado Springs. She also created original stained glass art sold in the community. In 1994, Claudia realized her dream of starting her own company, Physicians' Choice Transcription Service with offices in Colorado Springs and Wichita. Her business skills coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit made the company a success, currently with 43 employees in seven states. Most of all, "Mimi" loved her family. She is survived by sister Carol Lynn Thomas of Salt Lake City, daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Steve Earll of Colorado Springs, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kelly Gordon of Wichita, grandchildren Peter, Aspen, Elijah and Noah Gordon of Wichita, Emily and Matt Shoup of Loveland, Kaylee Earll of Colorado Springs, and great-grandson Riley Shoup of Loveland. A memorial service will be held at Living Hope Covenant Church on Sunday, November 16 at 3 pm. The church is located at 6750 N. Union.
