Cliff passed away in Golden, CO at age 76. Born in Logan, UT to Clifford R. (Sr.) and E. Elizabeth Clark, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann H. Clark, his sons Christopher Wilson Clark of Golden, CO and Dr. Clifford Dana Clark of Fort Collins, CO, five grandchildren, and his three siblings, Stephen B. Clark of Denver, William F. Clark of Farmington, NM, and Sister Mary Anthony of St. Joseph's Novitiate, Round Top, NY.
Cliff grew up in Colorado Springs, attended Saint Mary's High School and The Colorado School of Mines. He finished his undergraduate education at Colorado State University and obtained his M.D. from the University of Colorado in 1973. After medical school, Cliff practiced as a physician in the US Army, retiring in 1980 as a Major.
Cliff, Ann, and their boys moved to Farmington, NM upon his Army retirement where he was in private practice specializing in cardiology and later hospice care. Cliff and Ann moved to Golden, CO in 2010 to live closer to their sons' families. While in Farmington, Cliff served as the Chief of Staff of San Juan Regional Medical Center as well as serving other community organizations. He was most noted as an avid cyclist and founded the longest-running mountain bike race in the United States, The Road Apple Rally. The first race was held in October 1981 and continues annually today. Mayor Tom Taylor declared October 12th, 1991 "Clifford Clark Day" for his contributions to the community.
