Clinton Leeper Obituary

Clinton G. Leeper, 63, passed away to eternal life on October 21, 2009, after a courageous one-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Clint was born to Mary and Glenn Leeper on October 12, 1946 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A life-long resident of the Springs, Clint attended Whittier Elementary, West Junior High and Palmer High Schools, graduating in 1964 before proudly joining the Navy in 1965. While stationed in Hawaii, Clint met the love of his life and subsequent wife of 40 years, Gloria Fontaine, also in the U.S. Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor. They married in May 1969 at Sacred Heart Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. After his enlistment, Clint and Gloria returned to Colorado Springs where Clint promptly started work as an offset printer at Acme Ticket Company. Clint continued with Acme Ticket until 1980, at which time he struck out and began a long and prosperous career in a printing business of his own crafting, the family-owned and operated Leeper's Litho & Letterpress. ; A pillar of the downtown business community, Clint was also deeply involved with Saint Mary's Church -now Cathedral- for over 35 years. During this time, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and lead trainer and scheduler for St. Mary's altar boys. Clint also took a keen interest in the Catholic upbringing of his three sons, and his dedication and strong beliefs were natural assets in his professional and personal contributions to the success of Saint Mary's High School over the years. Clint is survived by his wife Gloria, his three sons -Terry (Kelly), Mark, and Jonathan- two grandsons -Glen and Garrett- and extended family in New Mexico, Montana and Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held October 27th at 2:00 PM at Saint Mary's Catholic Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa St, Colorado Springs. Inurnment will follow at Saint Mary's Cathedral Columbarium on Oct 30th at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions are gratefully appreciated by the Leeper family, and request any memorials be made to Pikes Peak Citizens for Life, 707R N. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 or the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Clint...you were a great man! I knew you mainly as a printer and always turned to you first. You were honest, helpful, and a joy to work with. You will be missed greatly by all of your customers. May the Lord bless and keep your family until the grand reunion someday in heaven.

Dear friend Clinton- I will always remember you as the sweet boy that shared junior high and high school with me and as my neighbor. You always had a grin for everyone! Even a year ago when Cindy and I brought you cookies I had made you greeted us with a smile and hugs! What a courageous man you were and the world will be less loving for losing you - but Heaven is rejoicing at your Homecoming!
Rest in His arms, Clinton...Linda (Axtell) Holsworth

The old Whittier and West Jr. gang has lost one of the best. Those will be the days I remember when I think of you and I think of you often.
We are all so sad but so happy that we all got to know you and have you in our lives. You were a very special boy then and a great man you grew to become. God bless you and your family.

Clint was such a great friend to the family. I can remember him coming to my Grandpa's shop often to check up on him. My Grandpa looked forward to visiting with him and excahnging stories about their printing jobs. He meant so much to all of us and we are deeply sorry for your loss. He will be truly missed by the Chambers/Hobson family.
