I worked with Courtney in Austin - she and Cody spent time with my husband and me. When my husband died, they invited me to Almaty to stay while I grieved.

Today I was finally ready to reconnect and discovered that Courtney has died. I am heart-broken and guilt-ridden.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Courtney was good people and a good friend that I met in the early 90's when she asked me to travel to Lometa Texas to work on an insurance portfolio for the cattle merchandising company she worked for. Courtney introduced me to many wonderful people. The friendship continued when she and her husband began a pre-fit feedlot operation and I was invited on several occasions to go cook gumbo and/or fajitas for their clients and friends. Courtney was always the perfect hostess, full of life and very intelligent and outgoing. I lost track of her when she graduated w/ her accounting degee, and saddened to see life end at such a young age. I'm sure she had more things to accomplish and She will be missed. An old friend,

I met Courtney when I visited Tim & Lisa Martin (my brother & "sister") in Almaty a few years ago. It was so easy to see why they were all such great, close friends. I thoroughly enjoyed the times I spent in her company & was looking forward to getting to know her better when she & they moved back to the states. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Bo and Dee, my deepest condolences on the loss of Court. She was first a boss pushing me harder than I have ever been pushed in my career. She also had a wicked side - I remember when she talked me into eating a Habanero pepper at one of her Almaty Tamale parties - I'll never forgive her for that...As time went by and I left PwC, she then become a mentor and close friend, sharing her insights as well as some private moments with me. She often spoke of you two and with such warmth. For the last two years, I have lived in London and have had the pleasure of Courtney's frequent visits (seemed like whenever she was every coming or going to America she would stop over in London). Her visits were always a grand time, pub hopping (ok, just once) or long evenings in the Churchill Bar lounging and reflecting on our plans for helping develop the investment climate of Kazakhstan. I so much looked forward to every visit. Sadly, I had expected two such visits during June 2010 which can never be. She will always occupy a special place in my heart and soul. I know that my own grief pales in comparison to yours, but hope that somehow, my sharing with you helps even a little bit. Your sincerely, Michael Wagner
