Crystal Rhodes Obituary

Crystal Virginia (Hough) Rhodes, loving mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away on March 23, 2013. Born March 8, 1923, as a native of Colorado Springs and graduate of Colorado Springs High School, she shared a wealth of personal knowledge about local history. Before retiring at age 75, she had a very rewarding career and took great pride in being a Registered Nurse. She worked in private duty, as well as in several local skilled nursing facilities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Rhodes, and her mother, Viola Hough. She is survived by three sons, Richard, Jim (Dixie), and Don (Terri); four grandchildren, Leah Pinney (Scott), Stephanie Bornholdt (Chris), Andrea Goller (Don), and Christopher Rhodes (Crystal); six great-grandchildren, Julia and Jessica Pinney, Dalton and Wyatt Bornholdt, Ashleigh and Emily Goller. Services will be held at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Evercare Hospice, 5450 Tech Center Dive, Suite 120, Colorado Springs, CO 80919 or First Evangelical Free Church, 820 N. 30th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

Crystal and Paul were an inspiration to me. I would often sit with them in Church They always sat two rows from the back on the east side of our sanctuary. I was able to have coffee (tea) with them in their home that was so special! I'm looking forward to seeing them soon.!
